Had a hood hinge spring come out of the slot, and wow what a noise when it uncoiled . Appear spring OK, perhaps the slot edge broke -- need to look.

Anyone have this problem and what was the fix?

Buy a new hinge from the dealer or get a used one from the JY.

 

Thanks Zman17. Yes, you indicate the only options available after visit to the dealer. They are about $140 each, but recommended to change both due uneven pressure. Going to try the used route, this should let me change only the bad side.
