Default Stock fog lamp wiring

Hello all. I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 slt 5.9 and am not sure on the fog light wiring.

my stock fog lamps were broken so i replaced them with some i got on sale at Walmart. I mounted them up but when i went to wire them in i could not find any of the wiring harness for them. So far this is what i have found as seen in the attached pictures. I tested the 3rd picture connector and found power to it at all times. Also i looked in the engine bay fuse block and both fog lamp relays are missing. Thanks for help.

So the stock fog lamps where broke , does that mean there was no wires running to them? If you took the stockers out what did you do with the wires that plugged into them?

Seems you have a lot of electrical to figure out. Don't waste your time. Install them with a separate switch ,relay and wiring. The stock wiring sucks anyway and is not worth the trouble to figure out.

Yes this truck has been a wiring nightmare. Question on the stock wiring. did the stock wiring go from the fog lamp bulb to a connector under the bottom of the radiator? i have found a big wire bundle with a zip tied connector that has two wire on it

Without seeing it , It sounds like the PO wired the fogs. If it was factory , I can assure you, that I atleast. have never seen the factory use zip ties.

I have two spare connectors under the radiator and they each come out of the bundle right about where each fog light would be. Nope, no zip tie here. I didn't have OE fogs to begin with, so I didn't bother with that. I got mine at WalMart also and they bring wiring and switch and everything. Set it up with a separate switch and you'll be good to go. Unlike most people I am an OE fanatic. I like all my stuff to look OE. Fortunately for me in 97 the OE fogs had a separate switch on the dash, (comes as a dead button when you don't get OE fogs) so I wired up a nice black mini rocker switch inside that dead button that looks OE. In '99 I think they were hooked up to the headlight switch so you will have to improvise.

Do you happen to know how many wires are running to that connector and what color wires they are? Thanks

There are two wires per connector, and the colors are black and either dark green or bark blue. I would have to get under the truck and get back to you. They only come out of the bungle less than half and inch.

I just added after-market fogs to my 2001 2500 using the factory fog light harness. I got the fog harness section, relay, and stock switch at a junk yard for $25. The harness plugs in to the main harness under the radiator on the driver's side. It took me a while to figure out the logic of the circuit, because the dash switch and relay are on the ground side of the lamps. But they work great now.
