Default Anyway to fix squealling brakes?

Like the title says, The brakes on my Intrepid squeal like crazy (yes this is a ram forum but its a general question and there are alot more people on this forum then the intrepid) Alot of pressure, little pressure, wet, dry they make noise. And there brand new pads/rotors. I do beleave there semi-metallic pads but not 100% sure. And its gotten to the point where there really annoying, I hate pulling up to the house and my GF saying she heard me coming from a block away when I stopped at the stop sign.

Anyone got any tricks? I tried going to the car wash and cleaning the crap outta them but no luck.

Is there a fix or am I looking for snake oil?

is there anyway to put the anti-squeak rubber stuff on the backs of the pads. that glues them to the calipers and/or coats the metal backing plates so that don't squeak in their pockets.

also check to see if you have (had) any hold down springs that have gotten lost.

Did you turn the rotors when you changed them? Brake squeal is caused by high freq. vibration. Some times its the vibe on the backside of the pads, and all you have to do is glue them to the calipers. Sometimes its caused by an uneven rotor. Another things that causes brake squeal is unequal pressure being put on the pad. 2 things can cause this.....1. Either the slides on your calipers are dirty/corroded/stuck or the little tin retainer plates that the pads slide on are bent/dirty/corroded and not letting your pads apply equal pressure. 2. Your calipers are going bad. Have someone step on the brakes, and take a feeler gauge and make sure the pistons on your calipers are coming out straight.

Rule of thumb on brakes......when you replace the pads, turn the rotors, clean all the harware and lube it up, replace the retaining plates that go on the top and bottom on the pads, glue your pads on, and never press back the piston without opening the bleeder on ABS. And a common mistake people make....when it comes to brakes you are going to replace parts one way or another. If you buy soft pads, you are going to replace the pads all the time. If you buy the expensive full ceramic pads, you are going to replace your rotors. Pick your poison.

I've got this same exact problem with my Chevy Caprice Classic. The brakes looked just about new and I took them apart and put anti squeek grease on them but they didn't do anything.

My truck is also like this but if you lube them up with anti squeek grease it fixes them for a few months at a time. They are also no where near as bad as the Chevy. I eventually just gave up on both and let them squeek. The Chevy is like you describe. It's really bad about it and nothing I do seems to work.

Find CRC anti squeal compond, it the only thing i use it creates a cushion between the pads and the calipers. which is the most likely cause of the squeal. that little packet **** does not work you have to get the stuff in the bottles it is usually orange or blue.
