shock lengths
i will be lifting my 98 1500 ram up 8 inchs, and putting the dana 60 ram axles under it... i need to get shocks for this lift but i dont know the length....
anyone here able to help me out???
also the same basis,. i am doing the bds shackle flip, and tough country add a leaf... with zero rate blocks... any one know if i need to get a shim, to put the driveline right... if so, how much of one?

Well, if you cant wait to order shocks after you get the lift on (to actually cycle the suspension and measure), than I suggest getting a set of 8" lift shocks like Home stated. They should work fine.
As far as the shim goes, you can purchase a zero rate block that has the shim built into it. Thats the way you want to go. I think most people that I have read about doing the shackle flip use a 5 degree shim... should work well for you too.

well the shocks. i will be gettting the bilstian 5100 shocks. and when i buy them from shockwearhouse.com, you buy them by the conpressed and extended length.. i will probably just wait until i get the suspention in,, and have my dad measure it that way...
should i have him do the front and then the rear differantly, so i can get two differant shocks.. set for the front, set for the rear... that way they match the drop and comression on the axle...
as for the shims.. i am finding out now.... have to wait for my dad for dad to tell me if they are built in...
