Default help on a intermittent problem

Hey guys, I gotta probelm with my sun in laws 01 truck. we had the tranny rebuilt. We put it back in and I drove the crap out of it, running very well. He comes to pick it up and calls me saying that he is loosing power. It will make popping noises almost like it has jumped time. But this problem comes and goes. It well run great for a mile or 2 then acts up again. Any thoughts.

Try removing the TB and clean it. Remove the sensors on it first. Make sure you clean the hole and the IAC on the back of it. Also have the cat checked.

Many times the crank position sensor gets crushed or pinched on a tyranny reinstall. It fits into the tranny bell housing just behind the passenger side head. My bet is the tip or the wires got pinched. There's a couple of threads on how to get to it, just search crank sensor mod.
