Default gearing

anyone ever installed gears? either 4.10, 4.56, or 4.88 on a ram 1500 4x4? is it really that difficult to do on your own? also, anyone know about aftermarket torque converter options? something with a lower stall speed maybe? any advice would be appreciated.

a lower stall speed? Why would you want that?
Installing a R&P set I'd defer to the pros, unless you have the skill and patience for it, as well as a dial indicator and whatever else is required to get the lash right. It sounds like a major PITA to me, and if you don't get it right you can cause problems.
