Post Brake Pulls

I've got a 97 Dodge 3/4 ton Automatic 4x4. Recently i've noticed that when you press hard on the brakes the truck pulls hard to the right. The truck only does this when braking hard, and does not dive but just pulls to the right. Soon as you let up on the brakes goes straight ahead once again. I've switched the front tires thinking it might be a bad tire but no difference. I've got good brake pads and rotors. The rubbers hoses appear good with no cracks or pinched areas. Have not done anything to the brake system to get air in the lines. I am thinkin its a faulty front right caplier. But want to see what you guys thought about this problem.

I would tend to think left caliper or left rear not working right.

I can see how it could be a left caplier. Have yet to be able to decide which one for sure is the culprit.

Could also be a hose, they can collapse inside, even if they look good on the outside. Also make sure you don't have a leaking axle seal. Take both sides apart and clean and lube all the sliding surfaces and the pins.

Axle seals aren't leaking. I've cleaned and lubed sliding parts on capliers since this problem has started. Thanks for the help thou. I am trying to figure out what is wrong without replacer parts until it stops.

Like I said, could also be a hose. Or the piston in the caliper is seized.

Had the same problem in my '99.

I went round and round trying to figure out the problem and replacing things that may have been related to the issue.

What I finally ended up doing was replacing the rotors, calipers, and hoses. Problem solved. Beware though, when replacing the driver side hose I ended up stripping the nut from the hard line. Be careful with it, it seems to strip easily.

I didn't think the cost was bad for everything, and I now have the peace of mind knowing everything is new.

I am going to start with replacing the hoses this week, and then capliers, then rotors until its fixed. I hate to fix anything by just replacing parts until it works but i am out of ideas on this one.
