Default need some help regarding emission codes/checks

hey guys, im new here and in need of some help. back in June i replaced my thermostat. had an engine light on and it told me it broke, so i had to get it fixed before i got it inspected. so, i fixed it, light went out, i thought i was all good to go. took it to my garage to get it inspected (uncle owns it, he knew what was going on) hes plugs in his computer under the dash and it reads that i only have 4 of the 6 "codes" set. ( i dont know the real name for them, emission codes or checks. but they have to be set for the emissions to go through). anyone know how long you have to drive around until the codes set? my inspection ran out the end of june, and theres nothing i can do until the codes reset.

if you are talking about the inspection/maintenance monitors (catalytic converter/ o2 sensors/ egr etc...) then we don't have all of the sensors that a code reader looks for. when i hit the button for im monitors on my code reader, it says "n/a" for most of them because they are not on the truck, "ok" for the ones i do have and "inc." for the ones that haven't been read yet because it has not been driven long enough.

a 10 or 15 minute trip should be plenty of time to get all of the sensors reading right unless there is a problem. if you reset the pcm or use the erase codes button on a code reader then the i/m monitors reset and you have to take a little trip to get them reading again. the inspection stations here in NC are required to have their code readers hooked up for 15 minutes to make sure there are no codes and to read the i/m monitors.
