I was running to the mall today and as I was turning into the spot, real sharp left hand turn, the transmission completely disengaged, I put the truck in reverse and still nothing, back into drive and it 'clunked' back in. It has happened before but nothing this bad, I was hitting the gas pedal and at 2k the truck was not moving. During normal driving when I turn sometimes the transmission gets stuck and then 'clunks' back in. Is it time for a new tranny or is there something else to check first?
