Default modded my CAI

ive had the AEM Brute Force cold air intake for over a year and honestly felt no gain or loss so it was a waste of my money, so i decided to modify the CAI to have a ram air set up (similar to the Volant intakes) i cut a hole in the side of the original filter box ran 3 inch hose out to the front of my truck and cut a piece of aluminum diamond plate to cover over the filter box: sorry the pics are sho crappy, i know theyre dark and not good quality (cell phone camera)

thats what i wished i had done with my intake. or, at least thats what i wanted to do. he can't really get a patent on something like that. volant already makes the same thing.

yea i based my design on volants version for our trucks so i cant patent it or else I WOULD but it does perform SO MUCH better...

as for the cost

the 3 inch duct hose cost me MAYBE $5, i bought 2 rubber reducers for each end of the hose that were $2 a piece..i already had two FLARED ends to ports off of subwoofer boxes which is what i used to attach the hose to the filter box, and the other end is used for the air intake.. but they run probably $1 a piece and 2 hose clamps were $3...my dad has all the tools i needed in his shop so my total cost in parts was $12....took me no time to do it! and it looks nice... my dad had the aluminum diamondplate i used as a cover but you can get a small sheet of it for $20...but my investment was very little to make a difference that was WELL worth it
