Nah, that'd be far too restrictive and pointless. If you're set on using that muffler, just have it mounted up sideways and have both pipes going out to the rear, sides, etc.

Just to clarify, That was posted to help out the OP. Wasnt for me. Im not exactly sure what exhaust setup im going for just yet. I might just go for a straight pipe section in place of the muffler. But, I may just leave it for now until im able to go all out and get headers, superchips tuner and such.

I was thinking about something like that. Note that the exhaust is sideways.

jacks design would allow him to mount it in the middle of the truck where there would be plenty of room. i still say to just straight pipe it, mufflers suck.

You've got straight pipes right? Did you loose any low end torque or anything? Want to know before i chop off my muffler.

I had straight pipes on my 93 Cadillac STS(Northstar 4.6). Accually didnt notice any loses. I noticed some gain of power. Torque steer got worse too! lol damn i was satisfied. Sounded mean as hell. Ive got some vid. And some pics of the setup on the STS. Is there a previous vehicles thread in the 2nd gen forum? And would it be ok to make one?
