What is your A/C cooling temperature at the vent?

The temperature at the vents is a relative reading. You really need to get a few different readings to see if your vent temps are accurate and appropriate for conditions. When you charged up your A/C did you use a manifold system reading both high and low sides? Did you get ambient temperature in front of the condenser? The ambient temperature will affect air flow through the condenser and thus affect vent readings. Did you put your thermometer in the center vent or side vent? It should always be in the center vent. Finally them after getting those readings you can tell if your vents are reading correctly.
I checked mine last week and with an ambient temp between 90-100, low side at 43 and high at 225 my center vent was reading 55*F. If I revved the RPMs I could get it down to 52*F. See how it's all relative?
