Never hurts to see what people use.

Hammer, I use Flitz on my chrome roll bar... oh my god... that stuff is amazing. I run it all year long up here even in the WI winter... and there is no rust, and shines beautifully. That is the best stuff for chrome IMO.

I use mothers chrome polish on my stock metal wheel, the front grille chrome plating, the aluminum rear and front bumper, side view mirrors, rear view mirror, bathroom mirrors. The stuff is amazing... leaves my stock aluminum rear bumper nearly mirror shiny. I would even use it right over those water markings from the picture, and can nearly guarantee it would take it off.

+1 for mothers polish, i use it on my second set of chrome rims all the time!

for my painted rims i used turtle wax car wash concentrate, rub them down a little and the bronze just shines!

So, what works well on that heavy black oxidation that I have on the inside of the chrome rims? Haven't pulled my stock rims since i've owned them, and I was just thinking about that as I read this thread. I know there's chrome under there, as I will occasionally reveal a patch of clean chrome when I clean the truck.

Man, I had to get out the wire wheel on those rims.

Nothing was cutting through that crap.

I spent 2 hours on the first rim and barely made a dent. 30 minutes with the wire wheel and it was done.

Moral of the story: don't wait 11 years to clean the insides of your rims.
