Roll Bar help
I just got a used chrome double double roll bar with 5 lights thats in pretty darn good condition. but as with any used item it has some wear but what is the best way to clean up the roll bar and having it look as good as new? also how would i wire these lights up to my truck. i have never done electical stuff before. people are also tellin me im going to need a bigger battery or bigger alternator or whatever since i have these 5 high beam lights on the roll bar and 2 high beam lights on my grill guard. How can i wire all these up to not come on unless i flip a swith or somethin? thanks
this should give you a good idea on the lights:

First, do not use an SOS pad unless you want to scratch that chrome (sorry, Helms). Go to the hardware store and get some 00 steel wool, the kind they use for furniture refinishing. That will clean the chrome without scratching. Next, the averag off-road light is 100w. You will need some significant juice to power all 4 at the same time and forget running power through a switch directly to them. You'll need a relay setup with fairly heavy gauge wiring going from the battery to the relay and to the lights. If you plan on running all 6 at the same time you better have a HD alternator or you'll be in trouble. A dual battery setup isn't a bad idea.
micro fiber cloth and brasso works great and be care full with the lights some state require u to have them covered

For a short while it will. If you haven't got a high amp alternator your charging system will be running at a deficit with those lights on and you'll drain the battery down. Once the battery voltage gets below a certain point the truck will run like crap because it will mess with the computer and sensors. Do it right.
Miami Son is right,...also,..you'll want to blast your "tunes" while your wheel'in,..power required by: amps, subs, high wattage speakers,... THEN, your trucks own accesories, computer, lights, guages,.....seriously, you'll love the setup when done up proper.
