Transmission Not Upshifting
All,
I am sure this has been asked beforre but I am unable to fins the answer so here I go. I just got done replacing the plenum gasket on my dodge ram 2500 (5.9) and then I took the truck for a test drive. Now it will not upshift. I have had the tranny rebuilt about 2 years ago and the tranny is good so I am left with the TV cable needing to be adjusted, but I am not sure how to do it, I can not find a procedure in the Chiltons manual. If anyone can help with this I would appreciate it. Also could it be anything else (i have tested the TPS and it is good)

I wouldnt worry about it at all if your tranny was shifting perfectly before the plenum job. It just about has to be the tv cable like you said. Which i have no idea how to adjust. But if i was you i wouldnt worry about anything else other than the TV cable.
I dont think it could be anything else really..
Somone else will chime in tho.

TPS cable is the most suspect, as you have to move it around to get at the plenum gasket.
The Haynes manual has the exact procedure, I would suggest nabbing one next chance you get. I find my Haynes a little more useful than my Chilton, but both are good to have. You'd think, since they are printed by the same company, they'd be similar, but they aren't.
Since you are pretty new to the forums, I'll cut you some slack.
Here is the procedure, straight from the manual.
