Sending Unit - Fuel Gage
If one were to go directly to the fuel tank -- what would one expect to find in terms of resistance/voltage across the terminals with the wires disconnected at tank sending unit?? Then coming from the vehicle wiring?
If one were to leave factory wires connected to sending unit -- what voltage/resistance would you expect to read??
Another approach -- how would you check in tank sending system to see if it is a problem.
Any estimate on weight of the 35 gal fuel tanks.
Getting ready to drop tank and check out -- this after stealership quoted $1000.00 (Yes, one thousand bucks) to drop tank and replace sending unit. 96 2500 Cummins

i don't know, but see if this helps.

i would guess that gas weighs about 5 lbs/gal, so 35*5= about 175lbs
some people prefer to raise the bed rather than drop the tank.
