I'm thinking about some new gears. Of course everyone says that 4.10's are the way to go and I do know that right now I have 3.55's. I'm pretty sure I have the 9.25 rearend but if I'm wrong please correct me. I have an 01 Ram auto reg cab 2wd with the 3.9. Also, where did you guys get your gears at and which brand and what was? Parts and labor?

I guess it would depend a lot on why you want new gears.
One of the main reason to change gears is so you can run a larger tire but still have stock acceleration and torque. If you are running the stock tire size, and you go down to a 4.10 gear, your rpm's at highway speeds are going to be greatly increased, and you'll lose mpg.
Another good reason to change gears is for towing or hauling heavy loads. Lower gears (numerically higher) give you more torque from a standstill, and puts you into a higher rpm for towing up hills, mud, etc.
If your looking for just a performance boost, gears definetly make it feel like you gain 30hp, but as I stated above, you will lose gas mileage. At least you have a 2wd, so new gears will be affordable. On a 4x4, you have to do both differentials. That usually puts you over $1000 for new gears.
Good luck.
