Default Intake and throttle body

I am planning on taking off my intake today to replace the gaskets while it's off I was going to do the kegger mod however I saw in a few of these threads people talking about mods for the throttle body but I could never find any specific information about the mod I have an 01 1500 with a 318 if that helps.

Plenty of info doing a search on the TB. But most have just bought a Fastman TB. Anyway, as far as the lower plate gasket replacement goes, if you are not upgrading the plate with a Hughes or an APS plate. Make sure the bolts are not too long atleast.

so you ARE going to do the mod yourself? this would be called the poorman's throttle body mod(because we dont feel like paying for something). if you look at the search function above, and type in poorman's throttle body or mod or something along those lines, you should find something.

Boring out the TB to 50mm size (good size for the 5.2L V8) is supposedly pretty easy. Like wjxavier said, you can find a couple threads on that by doing a search.

However, boring it out to 52mm all the way through requires putting in different butterflies. 52mm is what is recommended for the 5.9L V8. Thats much harder, and thats why I got my 52mm from the Fastman. $315 at first, but he refunds you $80 when he receives the old TB (core charge).

well got the intake of and oddly there was no center divider and it doesn't look like someone cut it out, so that mods out on the other had in a few spots my gasket were thin with pieces missing but i don't think that would account for all of the oil in the intake. My next guess is blow by from ****ty rings so does anyone know how to get the metal pieces off the heads around the spark plugs so I can get a compression tester in there?

Also if anyone knows where i can get a rebuild kit maybe one to add some power let me know

Think again. Some of us don't have a complete gasket failure, just a mild one like yours, and we end up with a ton of oil. I bet I had half a quart or so in mine.

Not saying you don't have other issues as well, but just a few pieces of gasket missing could definitely 100% account for a ton of oil in your intake.

Some years of trucks had the center divider, some didn't. The "kegger mod" wasn't just the center divider, it was also the intake runners.

+1, and the injector ports as well. like jason said, i would bet that it has to do with your plenum gasket.
