difference between superchips 3815 and 3865
Look on here last night and people were saying that the superchips flashpaq for the 2nd gen trucks is the 3815(update from the 3715). but as i look online there is also a 3865 for our trucks.
As i went to 2 different i net sites if you order the 3815 it states that when you click the add to cart button it will automaticly upgrade you to the superchips 3865
I ordered the new superchips flashpaq 3865 tonight for $304 shipped and all. Good deal compared to what i have seen for prices
What is the differences in these tuners?

The 3715 is the oldest of the three tuners. Not internet updateable, had to send it in to get programmed.
The 3815 was the first Superchips tuner for us that could be plugged into a PC and updated over the internet with the latest tunes/features, IIRC.
The 3865 is the newest, as you discovered, replaced the 3815. It does a wider variety of Dodge vehicles than the 3815 (cuts down on SC's costs), has a color screen (the 3815 did not), and supposedly has an easier to use interface than the 3815 (although I'm not sure how much easier you can get).
The 3865, 3815, and 3715 use the same tunes. The 3815 and 3865 will just be newer versions of the tunes, which doesn't mean a whole lot for us anyway, as SC hasn't added features to their tuners for our trucks in a long time. They are focusing on the HEMI right now.

Could someone clear this up for me. I guess I am just confused. I want to get one of these tuners but some people buy the 3815 over the 3865 and vice versa. For my 2000 Dodge 1500, the 3815 would be fine, since the 3865 only benefits newer Dodge vehicles. Right???
you are correct.
its really nice that superchips covers so many vehicles with a single product, unlike hypertech that limits theirs to each single year model. but, there's no new tuning going on with the old 318/360, so any model is going to produce the same result. the only thing about the 3715 is that since its not user updateable via internet, it might not be the latest version.
