check the battery connections. if one is loose then it might do that. my negative cable was loose one time and it made my volts max out on the gauge, it might also kill it if yours is loose.

Ok the answer the the strange shut down.
is the stock coil had gotten a crack it and it was hot as h3ll to.
so thats when i figured not to run it even if it did start and call my buddy.
Once it cooled down it would start. so now i have a MSD coil and going to get the MSD 6AL box later this month. (as long as the wife dont find out)

Also as for my buddy next time his JUNK breaks down and he calls me I'm going to show up with a scooter pulling my small garden trailer. That will teach him to show up with a ford.

 

Fuel pump was going to be my guess. Mine went out in my 94 Ram that I had. Three of the four legs from the top of the tank to the pump broke, leaving the fourth to support the pump. As the pump moved back and forth, riding the wave of gas in that huge tank, the pump would loose ground and stop running. Had mine towed twice before I figured out the problem.

 

what do you have so bad against fords? at least you got a pull.............
