Default Help!! Fuel rail quick disconnect.

Hey guys, just got going on my plenum pan replacement and I'm stuck at disconnecting the fuel line from the fuel rail. I have a 5.9 with the metal quick connect. I have the special tool but for the life of me I just cannot get it to come off. At first I used the wrong end of the tool (5/16), could I have screwed something up doing that?

Also, with the injectors... should they just pop out once I have everything else apart? I was going to leave the fuel rail in place and just take out the injectors but they seem to be in there pretty good and I don't want to damage anything. Thanks for the help.

using the small end of the tool shouldn't mess anything up. are you sure its long enough to get all the way into the fuel fitting?
the injectors are held in by pressure. the fuel rail holds them down.

Yeah, the tool is long enough, there is still a bit of the flange sticking out when I get stuck. Am I better off giving it more muscle or working on getting the injectors out of the plenum?

Spray the coupling with penetrating oil then insert the tool into the opening then reach behind the coupling and pull the spring side towards the tool. Then push on the tool to remove the line. You may have to twist the tool back and forth a bit to completely release the spring.
