HA HA Max would burn the truck down if he soldered. Dude you ****ed something up somewhere. If I wasn't busy tomorrow I would tell you to swing by or something and I would help ya out.
What he was actually using are refered to as scotch locks which you use pliers to push the metal tab down to pierce into the wires to make the connection. He wasn't using quality crimps of any kind. I have the Bluepoint soldering torch and a Bernsomatic mini butane torch with the blower attachment for shrinking tubing. That is an awesome setup for automotive work. I have a Weller 2000 with digital adjustable temp settings for bench work which I highly reccomend for quality work.
I didn't know you had all these issues. I was bored as hell tonight. I can even solder and have a iron with the digital temp deal. My mom brought it home from one of her former work places. I learned from her
Yeah he used butt connectors on the very last light which is the only one he has working. The first four are wired with scotch locks. The set of lights he has must be wired in parallel in order for the last light to work and the first four don't.
i thought most new cab lights are self grounding??
hey thats my hand in the picture. along with my cab lights. and mine arent recon. They are some off brand that i found at advanced auto parts for 17 bucks.
why do some people call it a volt meter and some call it a multi meter?

Its actually simpler than the pop vs. soda thing. By the way, its pop. Whichever of the two you think it is, I think we can both agree that calling everything "Coke" is ridiculous (darn southerners).
Anyway, a voltmeter measures volts, thats it. An ohm meter measures ohms, just ohms. A multimeter can be switched to at least two different types of measurements, whether it be volts, ohms, or combination with anything else.
then i have a multi meter. craftsman autoranging multimeter 81437 and it'll do just about everything, only cost me 35 bucks because sears was discontinuing that model.
