Default Code P0740 Fix Question

I recently got these two codes pop up; p0441 & p0740. I can fix 0441 but the one that freaks me out is 0740. Is it just a matter of changing the converter clutch solenoid? I've read various threads about this problem but no answers. My truck drives fine and shifts great. I have no complaints. It's just the CEL that bugs me. Is it still safe to drive without worrying about damaging the tranny? I have an interview in 2 weeks thats veeeerrrrry important and I would hate to be stranded on the side of the road on my way there. Any help is appreciated guys!!!

Clear the code and if something is definitely wrong then the code will pop back up again.

Sometimes codes pop up for ****s and giggles, but first try to clear out the codes just leave the negative cable unhooked for 30 min. and then hook it up and drive it, it may not wanna idle at first because the PCM has to relearn its self, but if the code doesn't come back up then dont worry no more but if it does try to look more into it.

Sorry I can't help you more I'm not a tranny guy, I rebuilt my own transmission and it didn't work for ****, so no more tranny work for me lol

I forgot to be honest. I only notice that issue in the winter for some reason. I haven't had a MIL light for about a month now, and since you brought it up, I will probably get a CEL in the morning when I go to get into it. Thanks.

I did go and smack the purge solenoid the last time it came on, then cleared the light......

Just an update. I reset the code manually and 0740 never came back again. It still bugs me that it happened. My question is, is it okay to change just the converter ad lock up solenoid or do I have to change it with the harness as well? the only reason I ask is because changing the harness, to my knowledge, requires removing the Valve Body.

My tranny started tugging, then the P0740 code came up, cleared it, it came back. Then it stopped shifting out of 3rd without reving it up a lot. Replaced the speed sensor on the tranny, it fixed the problem for a week, now it wont shift out of first. Now what?

If you cleared the code and it didn't come back up I wouldn't mess with it. Theses sensors are so sensitive that a slight voltage surge could send it off and nothing be wrong. I always try to make it repeat itself before tearing into something.
