Default Help: Shift Kit

I am looking for a shift kit for my truck. I have the 46RE transmission, I would like to see if anybody has a shift kit installed on their truck that they recommend to me. My truck is lifted slightly, has 33" tires and a daily driven to work and school. I drive 85% on the highway and roughy 15% on gravel roads. I'm insterested in a firmer shifts and a better downshifting. My truck right now down shifts very long from 4th to 3rd. What I'm saying is I want like a faster down shift from 4th to 3rd. My truck's transmission makes my engine bog down and loses power before shifting.

Any suggestings???

i bought a transgo shift kit from http://apsprecision.com/ for like $140 i think it was. then i had a local guy install it for me since backed out as soon as i had the tranny pan off. it was definitely worth it. not to mention you can adjust the firmness of it once its installed. if you want a little more info on the transgo shift kit i would call aps at (408) 205-8500 and ask for a guy named wayne. also, i havent done this yet but there is a write up for a slight mod to the throttle position sensor somewhere on here. maybe somebody else could point you in the right direction on that.

When I rebuilt my trans last December I put the Transgo TFOD Jr kit in my truck. The kit only cost about $25. Afterwords I did notice a firmer shift, but I've heard that the Transgo HD2 kit will make it shift much firmer than the Jr kit.

You should check out the excellent write up Aim's did on the Sure Cure Kit. It seems like thats the one to go with. I'm thinking about getting it done to my rig in a couple months.
