Default 1998 Dodge Ram Sport 5.2 Considering Buying Help

Hey guys,

I am new to dodge trucks. My mom has a 99 durango that has given nothing but trouble so I am unsure.

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.2L Leather Interior. Wrecked some body damage. Comes with new bumper, fender and grill. I think I can straighten the hood out.

The ABS lights are on for the abs and the he said the pedal gos to the floor and is very spongey. I figure it probally busted a brake caliper or a wheel cylinder.

He was asking $1200 I offered him $800 and he told me to come out and look and he would take $800. He said it runs and shifts great. The truck has 145K on it.

PICS IS IT WORTH $800? I AM LOOKING AT FIXING IT UP TO DAILY DRIVE.

IMO any truck that runs is worth at least $1000. If you can fix and repair it cheap, go for it.

i'd say its definately worth 800. you already plan on putting some work into it and all you need to do is figure out the brake issue and put the body panels on so yeah, i'd jump on that deal.

New Info

Used dealer has the truck. I will have to tow it. Once I get it fixed I will have to get a rebuilt title anyone know the process?

Every state is different. Oklahoma is easy, Florida is a pain in the rear. Check with your state, The title being scrap might make this deal a no go.

many states are trying to stop this (such as michigan) by not allowing you to buy vehicle back from insurance(if you had full coverage) or by requiring you to have a license to buy these vehicles

the bad thing about stopping salvage titles would be that insurance will say a vehicle is totaled if the body damage is higher than what it is worth even if the frame and drive train are still fine.
