Default Diff swap. 9.25 out Dana 60 in?

I have a 9.25 that is going bad. My understanding is that the 9.25 isn't that strong of a diff and my '99 1500 4X2 tows 5000lbs a lot. Is it possible to swap a Dana 60 or some other more rugged diff into it?

Ideally I could find a compatible diff in a junkyard, some model that has a reputation for being bullet proof, and swap it in for my failing diff. It makes no sense to get a 9.25 from a pick-n-pull yard if a high mileage 9.25 is a bad risk.

this has been talked about before, and for only 5000 lbs i would keep the 9.25, not to mention the springs on the 60 are 3 inch wide compared to 2.5 on your axle, and the hangars and shackles are riveted to the frame
