All you are trying to accomplish is taking the restrictions out of the intake flow. You are trying to increase air flow. Yes, colder air does wonders, but you are correct in the fact that it's going to be the same temp by the time it reaches the manifold. All I did was throw in a K&N drop in air filter to the stock air box. Honestly, I think it accomplishes the same damn thing that relocating the filter would do. Like I said, all you are trying to accomplish is allowing the motor to breath better. 14X3s are nice, but they are almost too loud IMO. I relate a 14X3 setup to the same thing as running with no filter over the TB at all; in terms of sound. When I'm testing the truck and I have the air box off, you get a sound that almost reminds you of a vacuum leak. It's too loud for my tastes and when you get the rpms at 3000+ It's annoying. If I were you, I would put in a oiled drop in filter and call it a day.

No offense man, but you must have a lot of money to burn. The Fastman does just as good a job, from everything I've read and heard, and is a lot cheaper.

Oh well. Your money.

I did drop a K&N oiled filter in way back. That's what's in there now in fact. I just want to A/B the two for experience. The TB from F&B is 100% refundable - if I don't like it for any reason- 100% refund. I had tried to call Dan quite a few times but, I could not get a hold of him to speak to him directly so, I went with Bruces' product. He offeres a great refund policy as well as great support. I also didn't want to wait two weeks for Fastman. That was another factor that promoted the purchase of the F&B over Fastman. They have them in stock ready to ship.

But, I do know what you mean about the cost of F&B vs. Fastman. But, Bruce felt that the modded OEM units do not perform as well as the solid billet models. He has been competing with Dan for ten years and stated that Dan does great work. Bruce used to do the same thing- perform mods on OEM units but, after testing them out, he stated that he couldn't get the same performance out of them and that's when he changed over to solid billet material. He has an engineering background like I do so, I can relate to what he was telling me and believed what he told me. I know that he sells the product and what you must be thinking but, I trust the guy. He also offered service for any questions that I may have as well so, there's something that made me feel comfortable in choosing to spend the extra money. He even rebuilds them for free when they wear out or, for those damaged due to NOS burps.

Yeah, I was prepared to ditch everything OEM on the exhaust. New headers, Cat, Muffler, etc. What is the X-pipe advantage over Y-pipes?

The Y pipe dumps everything into one exhaust pipe. The X pipe gives you duals with a balance that allows gases to flow freely from one to the other as needed. It just breathes better.

Ok, thanks. I just got the new F&B TB in today. I just ordered it yesterday morning and it already arrived. Going to install it today. What do you recommend for a CAT and muffler- magnaflow or flowmaster? These two seem to be popular on here.
