Question just got a trouble code????

(P 1281 ) 2001 ram 5.9 99,000 miles I am at work and dont have access to my manual, can amybody help me out and tell me what this means? Also any insight about what to check? Changed the plenum gasket with the hughes kit,new plugs, cap, rotor button about a month ago. Been holding off on getting the cat replaced due to funds but might have to break down and just do it.

p1281 cold too long... coolant level but more likely THERMOSTAT...

some thoughts-
your Temp gauge is saying what?
do not test it - maintance item just replace.
