Sport 1997:

What they changed in 1999-2001 Sports:

Forget about the different rims in the pictures, Sports did not have a specific set of rims that went with the package. Those are just the rims that happen to be on the photos I nabbed to illustrate the differences in body style.

If there is no visual clues that will cue you in to which model you have, your next step would be a vin number run. Either write the vin down and call your dealer, or go to www.dodge.com and send off for a build sheet.
Also, is your rear bumper the same color as your body, or is it chrome? If its chrome: probably non-sport. If its the same color as the rest of your truck: probably sport.
But Laramie is right, a VIN number would tell you for 100%.

Um guys for the number of times it has been discussed I am surprised that no one else mentioned this. How about whether or not he has four headlight bulbs instead of two which would normally indicate whether or not it is a sport unless the PO changed the housings and rewired for one or the other.
