if you have a connection problem then you should get a can of contact cleaner and hit it with that before you plug the sensor in.

My abs light and break light came on this weekend too. I took it over to a friend and had him scan the system. I couldn't believe it, the speed sensor on my brand new hub bearing has already carped out. The crappy part is Advance won't just warranty just the sensor, I got to take back the whole thing.

chucknc - did replacing the sensor fix your issue?

I changed my front brake pads yesterday and after putting everything back together and bleeding the brake system the ABS light and Brake light came on and remain on. My speedometer works fine though....is this the same issue where I should replace my sensor on the rear differential?

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. I don't have ABS, but while driving, the ABS and brake warning lights came on. The Speedometer went erratic. I cleaned battery cables, checked fuses, replaced the sensors in the differential and the transmission. No luck. A local garage said it was my instrument cluster, but I don't so. After I installed the new sensors, I briefly got a P0500 code. I disconnected the battery cables while cleaning them. This should have reset the PCM? Now the truck shifts at 3000 RPM. Is it a bad ground someplace?

I think i may take it to a dealership to scan the brake system because the lights annoy me
I finished a complete brake job on my 2001 Ram 1500 this weekend and couldn't get the ABS and brake light on the dash off no matter what I tried. The only thing that worked was to put a jumper in the OBD/DTC connector under the dash (where you plug in the data scanner). Confirm that you have a 16 pin connector and open up a small paper clip to make a jumper. Insert that into pin 4 (4th from the left on top) and pin 13 (4th from the right on the bottom) Turn the key on and pump the brakes rapidly 8-10 times. Turn off the key. The lights will be off. This only resets the lights so, if you have not corrected the underlying problem, the lights will come on again.

Had the same problem.
Also had no brake lights.
In searching for the brake light issue, I replaced he
brake light switch brake light switch

I still have no brake lights, but the ABS/brake lights shut off and I finally have working ABS.
