Default Throttle Body Spacer

I just got a TB spacer from ebay, T&T Motorsports I believe is the seller. It looks like there are two ways it can go on, on one side if you are looking down into the holes you can see the threads (or vortex thingy) going down but if you flip it over and look down the holes you barely notice the threads, it almost looks smooth. I am assuming to get the most air circulation going you would install it so when you look down into it you can see the threads? [sm=groupwave.gif][sm=massbounce.gif]

Just ordered one from the same guy. If I am not mistaken the smooth bore part goes down, the the vortex should spin downward into the intake.

Whenever either of you get it installed, please post back as to whether or not it did anything. Seems the general concensus about TB spacers is that they work better as a door stop then a performance mod. They say they only add value on carburated engines, but do nothing on fuel injected. It would be nice to hear from someone who actually has installed one.

By the way, if it turns out not to do anything, I recommend going with a Fastman bored out throttle body replacement. It definetly does works. Best upgrade I have done to date.

Thanks.

Well I got the spacer installed today and I actually noticed an ever so slight increase in power. After you get going a little bit you can tell it pulls somewhat better. On the downside, with the spacer installed the airbox is jammed up against where the rubber seal is, it wouldn't be so bad if the wire harness wasn't right there. Also in order to install the airbox spacer it looks like you have to drill out the existing bolt that holds on the rubber grommet thing that slides into the airbox. I didn't put that on because while doing the installation I noticed that rear tabs that hold the back of the airbox on were all pretty much broken off.....soooo off I went to ebay and ordered a "cold" air intake, got this one here... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT ...mainly I hope to get a couple MPG more, for 150 bux you can't expect a whole helluva big performance increase but it will be worth it to get a few mpg more out of the deal.

For not too much more, you could have gotten a Fastman bored throttle body replacement. You definetly would have noticed good performance improvement with that. I also noticed MPG improvement when I installed my Fastman.

Actually the TB spacer was like $50 I think. The air intake was $115. How much is the fastman TB replacement anyway? Also how much of a mpg increase did you get?

I think it is like $220 with core return. I went from 12mpg to 16mpg when I added the TB and a flowmaster muffler.

You would want the sprial to go into the intake.
