I have a 1994 dodge ram with a 318. And not that i would ever want to do this if it turns out to be possible. But is it possible to put a carburetor in place of the throttle body in my truck. And have the engine work properly with a carburetor instead of the throttle body. just wondering.
It is entirely possible but not a good move. A carburetor will never have the fuel efficiency of a fuel injected vehicle. Not to mention depending on where you live it may actually be illegal to do so. Why are you so curious as to whether or not this is possible may I ask?
i have always wanted to know if it was possible. and even though i will never do it i think it is legal where i live. would the whole legality thing have to with emissions?
On the legality issue it is against federal law to remove or alter emission controls.
As far as being possible, they made 318's run with carburetors for over 30 years.
