Default Oil sender switch or Oil Pump

First of all I had 2qts over the max oil level. Coming home from work I heard the ding and I thought my gasoline is low. Nope, I was shocked when I saw the oil pressure was at zero. As soon as I hit the gas the gage registered in it's normal operating pressure. Got home change the oil with new filter. Took a ride it was fine for the first 5minutes but then it started all over again. Has anyone had this problem. Where is the oil sender plug located and how hard is it to change out the oil pump. I did do a search and found 2 guys had the same problem but they never came back to report what was the problem.

The oil pressure sending unit is on the passenger side of the distributor.
To change the oil pump you have to drop the oil pan.

See if you can borrow or purchase an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and verify that you do or do not have a faulty oil pump. Then if your pump is good/bad you know which direction to head in from there.
