i run 91 performance on superchips and use reg gas, and it runs like its on 91 octain , even when i put 91 and use the 91 setting its the same performance, i get no ping or anything even running to redline

 

finally got my 3815! =) so happy. though its not the wheel burnin power it hought it would be, but then again with only 19HP and 30ft lbs of gain, what can you expect?
ill be running 91 this weekend when i fill up, and im gonna run the 91 tune, and see if i see any gains there.

 

I'm willing to bet you get a ping! I ran 91 tune and 87 gas it pinged really bad!

 

Its because your truck secretly doesn't like you anymore. But I have ran mine on 91 Performance tune, and have run 87,89,92,and 93 with no ping. Even the crappy 10% ethanol blend doesn't seem to effect it.

 

i been running it like that for about 6 months now no prob , your plenum leaking ??

 

in DFW i cant find ANY stations without 10% ethanol but tbh its never pinged and didnt have the death flash. obviously once i put the performance tune on ive only used 93. think 91 is the lowest ive run and that was only to try it out.

i try to use one brand of gas from a select few stations i know are high volume in higher octanes if i can. if your station doesnt use alot of 93 (or whatever the highest octane is where you are) it may have been contaminated or what not.

 

i set mine to the 91 tune, with 87 gas, and it didnt ping until around 4200rpm, then it got bad, so i changed it back to tow, im hoping that once i put a tank of 93 in it that itll be the difference, so far im not entirely pleased. =/
