Default jack stands?

trying to lift the front end of a 99 1500 4x4 to do the u joints... what is the correct place to set the jack stands? i have heard as of recently not to set it on the axle. so where would i put them to get both front wheels off the ground safely and without risking my axles health?

i put them under the axle tubes, front or rear, always have. that's the most stable place.

i don't like to put them under the body, because you have to jack it up super high, and then the axle is hanging way down and its just a pita.

The fronts and rears both have grooves on the axle tubing that are made just for jack stands. Look for them.
