Default Transmission compatibility

I know there is probably other adds like this but i cant find them. I have a 00 dodge ram 1500 360, the transmission went and i was wondering if the transmissions are the same throughout the years(94-01). Just wondering if i would have any troubles putting a older one in it.

There's a Glossary Sticky at the top of the forum with info on trannies. Basically, the older 46RH will not replace the newer 46RE. Even an older 46RE may not work to replace a newer 46RE since this tranny is computer controlled and differences in the PCM from older to newer may make them incompatible.
