ok I stand corrected, so its been a poor design for that long then....I dont know how long its been since honeywell bought them but I know honeywell also bought autolite and thats when I started noticing the made in china and made in mexico instead of made in the usa etched into the side and the quality was terrible on the last two sets I bought before going to NGK I know I read very bad things about Fram on the vw forum and then googled and read some articles on independent tests and they blew apart easy in them. I dont honestly know If the quality of their other produsts like the pcv valve has changed but If I was a beting man...
