I did a ton of research on this a few weeks back. I also probably annoyed the heck out of the local dealers parts guy. Found that the heads on the 5.2 and 5.9 are the same in ALL the vehicles. What makes up the difference is a cam and crank combo. The combo differs from one motor size to the other and vehicle type.

I've noticed a coolant loss in my ram and the left valve cover is leaking oil near the back and also the middle. I found a set of rt heads for $125 with 12,000 miles on them. I'm thinking of buying these just in case when i do my intake gasket next summer. Is that a good deal for a set of heads?

I have the exact same issue same side. The oil leak is not significant, never have to put more in before an oil change. I do however spend alot of time refilling my radiator.

sure couldn't hurt

gave me an idea for my next truck
when i get it, im want to buy a head from a JY, have a port & polish job done, 3 angle valve job, and possibly set up for fire rings, that way when i turn up the wick some (intake, chip, possible turbo upgrade, water methanol injection) it will be more able to handle the power & and more efficently at that

Nope all have the 1.92/1.6? The reason being is that the heads at Chrysler are going for economy not performance. Good for them bad for us.

Yeah, I thought the R/T heads had 2.02 intake and 1.62 exhaust. Ours heads stock are 1.92 intake. Only thing I can think of is that there is a Mopar Performance R/T head and a stock Dak R/T head? I always thought about R/T heads from a junked Dak or Durango. Plus the R/T badge would look good on a fullsize!

Well , just called by buddy that knows a few things, and he told me R/T heads are aluminum. Ours are cast iron. He may be wrong, but I thought I would throw it out there.
