Default 98 Ram throttle cable replacement.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I have taken it off the throttle body but how do i get it off the pedal/firewall? Me and my daughter just almost died on the freeway cause the throttle got stuck at redline and the brakes would barely slow me down. The cable is frayed and getting stuck in the rubber grommet. Where it goes thru the pedal looks like it is permanatly attached. Do i cut this? Will the new one attach differently? ANY help would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

It's ordered from the dealership (the ONLY place in town to get it) and will take 48hrs to get here.

In the mean time, go get a Haynes manual or download the FSM from here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...tmas-guys.html. It's obviously replaceable or the dealer would not sell it separately.

It is pretty straight forward and easy. Hold the pedal up and remove the plastic retainer. BTW, you should still get one for reference when working on your truck(you won't be sorry), but don't get the Haynes just for the cable install, as it's not in the manual.
