^ What kind of music do you listen to?

Rap Hiphop- 12"

Rock, country- 10"

That's usually the rule of thumb.

Eh. I think that is a bunch of bull. You can have any sized sub but as long as it's tuned right and in the right box you can make an 18" as good if not better than a 10" in any application.

It's all the recoil in the cone it's self. 10" Subs give off a crisper thump compared to a 12" which tend to be a little sloppy on mids.

Oi, I would argue with you but it's pointless. My $300 12" ported is so much better than my buddies $400 10" JL W7 IN A SEALED BOX. Which supposably these W7's are "gods" when it comes to SQL.

Get what I have...plenty of boom but I can still think. It is the Qlogic box and I put a 10" instead of a 12" and ported it. This was recommended by a guy I know that been doing stereo for 30 years!

Try to fix the box used like I did or new it will cost $225 just for the box.

L7's are decent. But like I do everywhere else I always like to give the option of Fi I had the Fi Q 12" at first and that had to of been the best sub I have ever owned. It's a little spendy for a fully loaded 12" but you won't regret what this thing is capable of. Be sure to get BP Power if you do look into it.

with 2 kids in the back, use metal to lift the seat if you do lift it. i wouldn't trust anything but steel with some kids back there. and make sure that you have enough seatbelt sticking through the seat.

also, i've been drooling over L7's since they came out.

you don't have to put the sub in the back if you're going with a 10" sub, you can always convert your front center seat into a box for it.
