I removed the throttle body from my 1996 5.7 engine (I think) cleaned the iac and the intakes with carb cleaner ,reinstalled it and fired the engine and the idle was on 1100 ,before I cleaned it it was around 750...I backed the idle screw down to get it back down to 750 altho the haynes man. says not to,,It starts and runs fine but I was just wondering if backing the idle screw will cause any probs with the computer....tks Terry
You should NOT have adjusted that screw, you cleaned stuff and should have waited until the PCM reset and relearned the new signals it is being sent from those cleaner sensors.
