What size speakers do i have?
The speakers in my truck are all shot, prev. owner must have dont some serious music listenin' i suppose. Either way i want to replace them and the head unit but i'd rather only take the panels off once and do it, instead of taking them off to see what size speakers i have, then waiting to get the speakers and putting them in. Its an 00 ext. cab with the "Infinity" system according to window sticker. Does anyone know what size are in the doors and the rear panels? Im guessing doors are a 6" dia. and rear panels are a 6x9 or something like that? Thanks.
After pulling off the panels, get a tube of superglue and seal the top edge of the door back to where it was because it's impossible to get those little pins back into place behind the door panel that holds them on.
...or go to lowes and get some more of those inreior panel fasteners.
mine is also 6x9 in the front doors and 6.5 in the rear. when i upgraded mine i installed all clarion...head unit, speakers, amp. everything looks very classy and doesnt scream "im a stereo freak"...until you turn it up. then everybody trys to figure out where its coming from.
im a dealer for mobile, home, and business audio/visual anything. i ended up getting the ENTIRE clarion setup for around $225...i love it.

Just for future reference, those saying that 6 1/2" speakers fit the rears; don't recommend that to a person with a standard cab. A person with a standard cab can make that speaker size fit, but it isn't as simple as putting in longer screws.

His truck is an extended cab, as is mine and I was able to fit 6.5's in the rear holes
Read closer. No need to correct me. I wasn't saying any of you were wrong. My post was just an FYI if you ever tell that to a person with a standard cab, they are liable to kill you once they see the mess they are in.
mine is a regular cab...anyone with enough sense to get the panels off should be able to use a die grinder and a drill...if not, you can get adapters for it.
took me a total of about 30 min per side...start to finish.
