Default rear wheel cylinder

am I missing something on this thing guys, I dont have pics but i have put two pass side rear wheel cylinders on in the last two days put new pads on and all the springs are in by the manual, would the drums be that thin that it lets the cylinder comp expand?

did you adjust the adjustment screw at the bottom?

drum thickness shouldn't really have anything to do with it. they couldn't wear more than 1/4" at the extreme most.

try this. open up the master cyl and lower the fluid level a little. compress the cylinders all the way in. some fluid should move to the master cyl. extend the brake adjuster a little more and reinstall drums. DONT mash the brakes yet. extend the adjuster through the backing plate until the brake locks up. then loosen it until it turns freely with just a hint of drag. you may still hear a tick, that's ok. do both sides. now bleed brakes.

ok ill try that does any one else have any suggestions? at ten bucks a pop replacing wheel cylinders is getting old

thanks dhvaughan just put another new one on and adjusted them and as of right now with 70 miles on it and bout 20 min in a mud hole no leaks and it stops much better to boot
