Exaust

I was wondering what the diameter of the stock exaust pipe right b4 the big azz muffler that is under my 2000 dodge ram 1500 2wd??? I want to cut the old muffler off and then put a flomaster in place and dump it right there... Its a 40 series so how do you think it would sound... its the 5.2 v8...

my 01 5.9 4x4 is 2.5. I took the flow off for a cherry bomb louder.

my 2000 5.2l is 2.5" and the 40 series is too quiet.
