Default Question about lift and tires

I have a few questions, and this seems to be the place to ask. Currently I have a 98 ram 1500 with a 5'' suspension lift with 33''x12'' tires. I want to upgrade to 38'' tires, but im not sure how much more lift i will need. Im thinking i need a 2''-3'' body lift to finish the job, but im not sure. Does anyone have a similar set-up?

You will need at least another 3" for 38`s.

i currently have 37's on my truck and they are plenty sufficiant.. so to go with 38's, a 3 inch body lift shoul clear it, but wont flex very much.. i have a 9 inch lift with 37's looks fine, and flexs awesome

It is, but not in the thread you posted to. Doing a search should yield lots of threads on this subject.

8" will clear 38's on the street, but plan on a fair amount of rubbing while flexing/turning in off road situations. And as always, re-gearing will be a must (4.88's recommended).
