Default engine missing out

I am having engine problems where it wants to miss out or hesitate intermittantly. It is most noticable when i slow down to a lower speed on the highway around 50 then speed back up to 70 it wants to start missing out. It doesn't do it at lower speeds. It has 88,000 miles on it, so if anyone could tell me what to check it would be really helpful.
Thanks

id go with checking plugs and wires first, are you getting a check engine light at all and if so what is the code? i had problems with mine missing and it took awhile for the light to come on and when it finally did we hooked it up and found it to be #2 cyl was missing, pulled the spark plug wire and it was cooked, im guessing the lil screw cap on the plug loosened up as i had changed them not too far before the problem, then it just arced itself out. dont know if it helps at all but thats a good place to start
