hazards don't work?

Default hazards don't work?

do i pulled over because i forgot to close the hood all the way hit the hazards button jumped out and noticed they where not flashing....puzzled i went back home played with them switched the relays around checked my fuses and nothing was bad.....BUT when hazards are ON my signals and brake lights do not work....when the hazards are OFF everything works like it should....also i have what looks to be a u haul reese hitch and wiring also plug and play type...

not sure what is going on ....i'm lost

Remove the hitch wiring connector and put it back to stock and see what happens.

Are the flashers the same # ? Sounds like the multi-switch to me. You might want to pull the covers off the steering column and check for broken/burnt wires and remove the multi switch and see if it has any burnt contacts. That E button gets a lot of crap/spills that get inside. This is of course that it's not trailer lighting related as Aubrey suggested.


BTW, even if the contacts look good on the switch, it could be internal.

I had the same problem, except it was with blinkers, turned out to be 2 melted wres, and a bad ground.

remove the steering column sheilds. and it was the grey with black stripe wire.

As for the ground, it was broken at the first connector in the rear of the truck, soi it was pulling power from other spots causing other not to work.
