rear end blown

Default rear end blown

i have a 2000 4wd and the rear end is blown i was going to aswap one in from the salvage yard but the guy there told me i neede one from a 2000-2001 that the earlier yeah 9.25s wouldnt fit. just wondering if anyone knows why is it just that the shock tabs wont line up or does the guy just not know what hes talking about. any help would be great.

The only difference I can think of off the top of my head is the brakes, they were upgraded
in 2000. Plus being that you have a 4wd make sure the axle you are swapping in has the
same gear ratio unless you want to redo the gears.

I believe the reason has to do with rear ABS but don't quote me.
