98 ram

Default 98 ram

i have a 98 ram 1500 5.2 when ever i step on the gas there is a sucking noise like it has a cold air intake on it but i don't have one what would be the problem.

sounds like a missing gasket under the air filter housing...1.99 autozone fix

The hose going to the filter box-cracked, dryrot? The filterbox tabs on the back side- are they broke, leaves a gap on the backside. I had a hole in the bottom of my filterbox where it mounted to the motor, try that. One more, the gasket on the brake booster could be a culpret

I feel for ya, I had a hissing noise for a little while and took mine into get an oil change and the hissing noise turned out to be the air cleaner not on the top of the engin right, once it was put back on right it stopped![sm=bounceybounce.gif] Sorry this nasty thing is happening to you...
