Default Evap Help???

I had a bad charcoal canister. I replaced the canister and blew out the line to the purge valve. Now I had an idle issue where the IAC valve is opening up every six seconds. Could there be some charcoal pieces stuck in the purge valve causing this? And should I change it?

Whenever a bad charcoal canister is changed because it's bad, the purge solenoid should be changed as well. Since it's been compromised. So YES, you should change your purge solenoid and open it up. I'm sure you'll find bits of charcoal in it.

Thanks. I think that is what is causing my idle surging problem. I just didn't want to throw parts at it. This is my first Dodge truck and it has been a good truck so far other than this idle issue.

While your at it, might as well clean out the throttle body and IAC.
